Paul Rudd has delivered positive news about his friend Jeremy Renner.

Renner was hospitalized with 30 broken bones and required emergency surgery in January after a snow accident. But, despite the seriousness of the actor’s injuries, he seems to be on the mend.

The latest information on the Avengers star’s promising return comes from his MCU co-star Paul Rudd. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the comedian and actor said Renner was doing “good.”

“I spoke to him yesterday, he’s fine,” Rudd said. “He’s doing great. He’s the best guy and he’s amazing.”

Renner was admitted in critical condition to a hospital intensive care unit after being run over by his snow plow last month (January 2). The Hurtlocker star suffered ‘blunt force trauma to the chest’ and ‘orthopedic injuries’ in the crash on New Year’s Eve before being airlifted to hospital.

He underwent emergency surgery the next day, according to a statement from his rep. Despite the severity of the injuries sustained at the time, the actor has made sufficient progress towards his recovery.

Renner made sure to keep her fans updated on her status. In a recent update from home, the Hawkeye actor revealed the true extent of his injuries in an Instagram post.

He wrote: “Workouts and morning resolutions have changed this new year… This was born out of the tragedy of my whole family and quickly turned into practical love.

“I want to thank EVERYONE for your messages and consideration for me and my family… Lots of love and appreciation to all. These 30+ broken bones will heal, get stronger, just like love and the connection with family and friends is deepening. Love and blessings to all.”

Several directors and co-stars have sent messages of support to Renner since the accident. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn wrote on Twitter, “My heart goes out to @JeremyRenner.”
