The Minister of Transport of Argentina, Mario Meoni, died in a traffic accident while traveling to the city of Junín, as confirmed by official sources to the newspaper “LA NACION”. The accident, which ended the life of this 56-year-old official, occurred tonight on Route 7, kilometer 112, near San Andrés de Giles.

The minister, who was a member of the Renovador Front, had traveled to Santa Fe with President Alberto Fernández and participated in various meetings there. In this way, shortly before the incident, he had signed on Twitter the signing of agreements with Governor Omar Perotti to carry out 6 necessary works in the province with an investment of $ 918,639,458.

Meoni drove a Ford Mondeo: an official vehicle from the Argentine Ministry of Transportation and Argentine Trains. And as it transpired, he was going to Junín.

One of the first to express himself in this regard was former Vice President Julio Cobos. “A very great sadness for the death of Mario, a friend of many years, a great person, affable, honest and very hard-working”He wrote via Twitter. Former Interior Minister Rogelio Frigerio also dedicated a message to him on the social network, where he deeply regretted the news. “I met him many years ago in his first term as mayor of Junín. A great person above all things. You are going to be missed. My condolences to his family“, He said.

Along the same lines, the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, also spoke on social media. “I deeply regret the death of our dear minister and colleague Mario Meoni, my condolences and accompaniment in this tragic and difficult moment to his family.”
