Russian mothers in Argentina and a threat to continental security

Originally, an immigration fraud is perpetrated. So, undeterred, we Argentines see how a threat to the security of the hemisphere is consummated, given the proven Russian activities in the illiberal and undemocratic narrative that has failed to uphold the rule of law since its autocracy.

While starting from a banal story, we use humanitarian situations that do not correspond to the obvious. It may be that some mothers come to the country in search of better life opportunities, in the same way as if they are opponents, or who intend to avoid being recruited to go to the front, or the do to seek political refuge for matters provided for in national legislation, in accordance with international treaties and commitments in human rights instruments.

Given this, there were no complaints from the Russian Embassy in Buenos Aires, but unconditional assistance, with all its diplomatic corps, no asylum request is obvious, yes, on the other hand, out of around 10,000 cases of mothers, some 7,500 returned with their Argentinian babies, after their children had obtained national identity cards and passports, without breaking the law, that is, abusing the legislation.

Although in our time, after the invasion of Ukraine, it might feel like a stigma to be Russian given the international sanctions and condemnations, and the need to obtain another nationality and another passport, why return they in Russia? Why in this case there have not been more asylum applications from refugees, these procedures being humanely designed with little bureaucracy and accessible.

Without a doubt, it is a situation generated by different causes, which has systematic patterns, which compromises Argentina, peace and in the face of a clear use of a weakness that is presented as an opportunity for a regime that threatens the republican values ​​and democratic systems of respect for human rights and seeks impunity by weaving networks between dictatorial and autocratic interests and governments associated with terrorism that works in convergence with transnational organized crime.
