Seville (Spain) 11 Feb. Luis Zahera today won the Goya for best actor in a supporting role for his role as a compatriot in Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s ‘As bestas’.

Zahera competed with her co-star and fictional brother Diego Anido, with Ramón Barea, nominated for “Cinco lobitos”, and with Fernando Tejero and Jesús Carroza, both for “Modelo 77”.

This is the second Goya he has won; the first, also as a supporting actor, took him to the 2019 edition with “El reino”, by the same director, Sorogoyen.

Zahera rose to prominence on Galician television at the end of the 90s for his role as Petróleo in the series “Mareas vivas” and made the leap to national fiction with collaborations in series such as “Central Hospital” or “Without breasts there is no paradise” and in recent years he has worked on “Living Without Permission”, “Red Sky” or “Operation Black Tide”.

In the cinema, he took part in the adaptation of “El lápiz del carintero” directed by Antón Reixa; the “Alatriste” by Díaz Yanes, in “Cell 211” or “As long as the war lasts” by Alejandro Amenábar. EFE
