Judas, the first game from Ghost Story Games, from BioShock creator Ken Levine, now has an official release date from Take-Two.
In December, it was confirmed that Ghost Story Games’ first title would be Judas, and it would be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at some point.
The synopsis for Judas reads: “A disintegrating spaceship. A desperate escape plan. You are the mysterious and troublesome Judas. Your only hope for survival is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies. Will you work together to fix what you broke?” Or are you going to let it burn?”
Not much has been revealed about the game, but Take-Two has now confirmed that Judas will be released before March 2025.
The news comes via an earnings call, in which the publisher confirmed that 87 titles (including Judas) will be released by the end of March 2025, although 38 of them will be mobile games.
However, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, informed IGN of the possibility of delays. “We have had some delays in recent years. At the moment we feel very stable. I feel very good in our next program.”
“Of course, there is always the possibility of some deviations, but the teams seem to be doing very well and I am optimistic about the continued delivery of great titles to the market,” he added.
Levine founded Ghost Story Games after studio BioShock Irrational Games closed in 2017. A 2022 report claimed the studio was in “turbulent” shape after losing key staff members.
That same year, in a rare interview, Levine explained his thought process when making games, stating that the number one rule developers must learn is to “throw away” their work.
In other news, Anna Hollinrake, former art director of Fall Guys, announced her new studio with Pavle Mihajlović, co-founder of Flavorworks. Electric Saint was founded in the fall of 2022 with a mission to create “games for an underserved audience,” according to a press release.
