A few years ago, History Channel created Vikings, a historical series that was much more successful than expected. One of the keys to its popularity was its protagonist Ragnar Lothbrok, played by Travis Fimmel. Audiences loved Fimmel’s Viking look, but the truth is, the actor ditched the look that made him famous a long time ago and now looks a whole lot different.
The physical change of Travis Fimmel after the Vikings
In the first episodes of the series, Ragnar used to wear blonde hair, tied in a long braid. He also had it shaved on the sides of his head and had quite a thick beard., as is natural in a Viking warrior. As the series spanned several seasons, Ragnar’s appearance changed. In this way, Fimmel went through several different looks.
In season three, Ragnar said goodbye to his braid and kept his hair very short. When season four began, the actor shaved even more and grew his beard longer than ever. Vikings ended in 2020, but Fimmel stopped appearing on the show much earlier. Change physically to fit other projects and characters.
In the two photos above, you can see what the actor looked like while filming Vikings, and what he looks like today. To this day, Fimmel has grown her hair long and wears it loose, unbraided, Viking-style. The star’s fans have commented that he looks like Brad Pitt from a few years ago, since his hair looks alike.
The saga will continue in Vikings: Valhalla.
Although Vikings ended years ago, the franchise continued in a spin-off series, titled Vikings: Valhalla. Season 3 of the series has already been confirmed by Netflix and will hit the platform on a date to be determined. Knowing that the second part of Vikings: Valhalla was released on January 12, 2023, the third could see the light of day before the end of the year.
