Drake said he placed almost $1million (£829,500) in “psychotic” bets for this weekend’s Super Bowl.

This week, the rapper shared on Instagram the many bets he has made for the game, which will be held Sunday, February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona and will pit the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“My psychotic stakes for Sunday are @stake,” he wrote in the caption. “Please do not analyze the logic behind these bets, there is none”.

Drake bet $700,000 (£580,650) that the Kansas City Chiefs would win the game, $50,000 (£41,475) that Patrick Mahomes would be the Chiefs’ first goalscorer and $50,000 that JuJu Smith-Schuster would be the first Chiefs scorer.

He also bet $50,000 on the Kansas City Chiefs winning both halves, $30,000 (£24,885) on the Chiefs winning each quarter, $25,000 (£20,737.50) on Travis Kelce winning the MVP and $60,000 (£49,776).

If he wins all seven bets, Drake could pocket more than $4.5m (£3.7m).

The entertainer previously won $2.1m (£1.7m) after successfully betting the Kansas City Chiefs in January after beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the Premier League game. AFC to advance to the Super Bowl.

However, Drake hasn’t always been so successful when it comes to sports betting: he has often bet on the wrong horse, sparking the theory that there is a “Drake curse”. He recently lost a million dollars betting that Argentina would win the World Cup in regular time, and despite winning against France, he lost the bet because the game was to go to overtime.

Other teams have lost games after posing with Drake or the rapper wearing one of his jerseys. For example, FC Barcelona fell victim to the famous curse in October after the rapper bet on them to win their game against Real Madrid.

For the match, dubbed ‘El Clásico’ in Spain, Barcelona wore a special kit dedicated to the rapper along with his OVO owl as part of their sponsorship with Spotify.

Rihanna will perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, making her first live appearance in five years. During a press conference earlier this week, he said he had already changed the set list for his 13-minute show 39 times.
