The Colombian cyclist Egan Bernal tested positive for covid-19 and for the moment he will not return to Colombia for his tribute. In a statement released this Friday by his press team, they indicated that the current Giro d’Italia champion is resting at his residence in Monaco with his girlfriend and had planned to return to his country of origin on June 5.

In preparation for their trip, both of them underwent the coronavirus test. They were recently notified of the result, so they are isolated at home and recovering with mild symptoms. The statement added that they do not present any complications. Bernal will suspend his return to Colombia and all his public activities until he is discharged. The new date to perform a tribute in your country will be informed “soon”.
