Whenever someone gives me a choice between a game with a good art style and a game that focuses on photorealistic graphics, I’ll always choose the former for one simple reason: I’d rather see something beautiful on screen. rather than something that reminds me of reality without becoming exactly like that. But it’s that they come to light a good handful of video games that push the latter to the extreme.

So much so that it is a series of titles that would be very difficult to distinguish if we associate them with an actual image that tries to copy their elements. Also; In this same article I want to talk about 5 video games so realistic that they are even a little scary, either because they use the technique of photogrammetry perfectly, or because its mechanics are designed to recreate processes that occur in real life. Let’s get down to business, yes, but not before explaining a bit what the first element I just mentioned consists of.

What is photogrammetry?

Photogrammetry is a technique in which photos of real spaces are used to determine the sites where the action will take place. Some video game studios take this to the extreme and manage to recreate situations and places in a hyper-realistic way, as is the case with the games that I will discuss below.
