Madonna visited her personal memory trunk, as Karina would say, to prepare for her future series of shows. On July 15, the proclaimed Queen of Pop will kick things off Celebration World Toura tour that will visit 35 cities, including Barcelona on November 1 and 2, 2023 at the Palau Sant Jordi.

And since celebrating four decades of musical career isn’t something many artists can brag about, the singer moved to the warehouse where some of the most important files are stored and the most iconic looks of her career.

“A trip through my archives is always a nostalgic trip down memory lane. When I look back on my journey through music over the past four decades,How not to think of all the clothes I’ve worn and all the brilliant designers I’ve had the chance to work with!“, compartía en redes sociales junto a algunos de los corsés más emblemáticos que ha lucido en concierto, como el de satén de copa conica creado por Jean-Paul Gaultier en los 90. Un corsé que, por cierto, protagoniza el cartel de anuncio de the tour.

“When I was little, I remember my mother was always cold, partly because she was sick, but also because she never had a coat. She always reversed the little money we had in our coats and I remember waiting for the school bus in the street, my mother shivering in the middle of winter!”, reflected between boxes, donkeys of clothes and videos of the documentary Truth or Dare (1991).

“Years later, when I became a successful artist, my mother’s sister said to me, ‘Now you can buy all the coats your mother couldn’t buy’.” From remembering my mother shivering in the winter to seeing me shivering in the air-conditioned warehouse where all my costumes are stored…it’s been quite a remarkable journey! I am not grateful. Every time I put on a beautiful coat, I think of my mother, and I hope she agrees with my taste in costumes, but above all, I hope that she is warm, “continues the post.

Considering the amount of clothes you’ve worn over these 40 years, are you going to surprise us with a nod to a favorite item from a specific era?
