Governor Jared Polis will be providing an update on the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination efforts.

Polis will be accompanied by Brigadier General Scott Sherman during the press conference scheduled for 10:30 am, at the governor’s residence at Boettcher Mansion.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) released the latest update to the Colorado COVID-19 Risk Scale: Risk Scale 3.0 on Tuesday.

The new COVID-19 risk scale went into effect Wednesday and will run through mid-April, according to CDPHE.

According to CDPHE, the COVID-19 3.0 risk scale would make it easier for counties to move to the Green Level: Protect Our Neighbors, the least restrictive level on the risk scale. It would also remove many of the restrictions that currently apply at that level, CDPHE said.

Vaccinated residents in residential care centers can have close contact with visitors, including touch, under updated guidance released last week by CDPHE.

That means older adults and people with disabilities living in nursing homes and other residential care facilities can hug their family again, as long as their family members wear masks and wash their hands before and after.
