Isabel Pantoja kicked off her US tour yesterday in style. Full house and total devotion at the James L. Knight Center Auditorium in Miami (Florida), where fans from across the Atlantic were bewitched at his feet. However, what began as a brilliant start to the tour was overshadowed by controversy and a court complaint.
A well-known Cuban activist, influencer and youtuber, Alexander Otaola, announced yesterday that he had filed a complaint against the singer for breach of contract. The man, in his online program Hi! ota olaHe said that Isabel’s team had contacted him to obtain the visa that would allow him to offer his shows in the North American country, since last year he was unable to do so because he was refused and he could not find any information about it.
After finding a way in which the two the singer and her musicians obtained the visa, the Pantoja team met Otaola in which he would visit the program. A meeting which, after having agreed on several points in writing – such as the promotion of the shows and the raffle of tickets to the program – did not take place.
“My legal team and I have decided to sue Isabel Pantoja and her team for breach of contract, of this commitment which is in the texts and emails. There is no signed contract, but there are commitments on both sides and we have proof of that.” he declared Alexander.
“The request is already registered in court, It has already been established and will be served while he is at the concert,” he added. “I am not the rest of the people, I am Alex Otaola, no matter who weighs, even the last coplera”, he continued his speech.
In the event that the complaint does not go to trial by prior agreement between the parties, Ataola insisted that “I don’t want the interview anymore, I’m not interested”. We’ll see how this whole mess ends up…
