On the afternoon of February 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) announced that a An 8-year-old girl was rescued alive in Turkey. The miner was under the rubble left by the earthquake that shook this country and was taken from there by elements of the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) in coordination with the local team.

This was confirmed by the Chancellor Marcelo Ebrard, who shared footage from the moment of the rescue. In one of the videos shared by the official, the presence of Mexicans wearing a vest labeled with the initials of the Secretary of the Navy was recorded.

After the rescue, the team cheered as several people carried the girl out of the rubble area.

It is Third person alive saved by Mexican team composed of personnel from Semar, the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) and the Red Cross.

Added to these rescues, so far the delegation sent from Mexico recovered 15 bodies, removed 29 cubic meters of rubble, unloaded 3 tonnes of food at collection centers and provided 49 medical consultationsaccording to the most recent report they presented from Adıyaman, Turkey.

In total there are 145 Mexican envoys in Turkish territory, among soldiers, sailors and members of the Red Cross.

“The Mexican delegation continues to provide its maximum effort every day in the search and rescue of people in the affected areas,” said Captain Segura, head of the Navy in Turkey.
