Although the medical report confirmed the cause of death, Moreno’s relatives would like to rule out that the former mayor’s death was premeditated. For this reason, Cristina González and her children ordered that the body of their relative was not sent to the funeral home (regular process in these cases), but was taken to forensics.

At this time, the report of the entity is unknown. However, it is speculated that his family wanted to complete this process after the alleged delay in caring for Moreno when he had his relapse.

Cristina Gonzalez Villegas was the wife of samuel moreno rojas. Originally from Pereira (Risaralda), González met Moreno at the Universidad del Rosario where, in 1979, she began studying law. When she arrived at university, everyone knew her. Cristina starred in different commercials for a well-known brand of chewing gum. These commercials and her modeling work earned her recognition from her fellow runners.

Among these was Samuel Moreno who, they say, loved him in silence, his shyness preventing him from speaking to him, so he used a mutual friend to serve as his “matchmaker”.

Cristina and Samuel took the same course in Roman law. There, with the help of his friend, Moreno managed to convince González to accept an invitation to hang out. What he did not know was that the meeting would not be in a restaurant or in one of the fashionable nightclubs of the time, like the legendary Keops, but in a political meeting in the south of Bogotá, where Moreno’s parents were also present: Maria Eugenia Rojas and Samuel Moreno Diaz.

The couple continued dating and eventually made their courtship, which lasted eight years, official when Moreno proposed to her. The engagement party was held at The big housethe house of the Rojas in Teusaquillo, the same house in which, they say, what would become the coup against Laureano Gómez.

In the early 90s, Cristina’s professional future seemed bright and wide. Job offers rained down on her not only as a model, but also to be a presenter of NTC or GAP (the two newscasts born from the 1991 Constitution). He rejected them all. After her marriage to Moreno, Cristina devoted herself to the house and took care of her children, Mateo and Samuel. He also served as support for Moreno in trying to fulfill Doña María Eugenia’s dream: to become president of Colombia.
