One of the best anime series of the moment has a character that reminds him not only physically, but also in battle

God of the war has no anime It’s a reality, sad, but true, because the truth is that one imagines what could come out of the animation of some of the craziest moments we’ve seen from Kratos in the video games and… +18 should be, no doubt doubts. On the other hand, just because God of War doesn’t have its own anime doesn’t mean they don’t exist. alternatives to compensate for this lack, and I can personally recommend something that some of you may already know: The Legend of Vox Machina.

What is “The Legend of Vox Machina”?

  • The legend of Vox Machina is about an animated series available on Prime Video.
  • At this point it has two seasons, but we expect to have a little more considering the length of the story.
  • The anime series is responsible for adapting the adventures of the Dungeons and Dragons group known as ‘Critical Role’. The Legend of Vox Machina represents the first of the campaigns they played at the time.
  • The Legend of Vox Machina vastly differs from God of War in both narrative and context, the former being focused on the more traditional fantasy epic while the video game franchise is known for its constant conflict with the gods (who are also present in Vox Machina, only under completely original lore).
The Legend of Vox Machina gives you the most classic fantasy without cutting a hair

What does The Legend of Vox Machina have that might interest a God of War fan?

  • If, as a God of War fan, what appeals to you most is how wild Kratos can be in battle, then the answer to why seeing The Legend of Vox Machina has its own name: Grog Strongjaw.
  • Who is this? Grog Strongjaw is one of the main characters of the group of The Legend of Vox Machina, a being of the race of Goliaths which is distinguished by its resistance, hardness and physical strength, which makes their action display a constant of viscera and moments of impact.
  • How is Grog Strongjaw similar to Kratos?
    • For starters, they both feature that ‘bald macado look’ in addition to the multiple ‘paints’ on his face. On the other hand, curiously both have an early part of the story in which they don’t have beards…and later they do (By beard, I mean the thick hair that Kratos wears in the second trilogy).
    • Another similar aspect is that both have a “rage mode” in which they fight like real madmen, destroying their opponents either with weapons or simply with their fists.
    • Like Kratos, Grog also makes mistakes related to his lust for violence and power.. While The Legend of Vox Machina’s goliath lacks neurons compared to Kratos, it’s still true that both have story cycles derived from their excessive violence.
    • Also, it appears to be spoiler-free, I’ll just say Grog ends up being crafted in The Legend of Vox Machina with a legendary weapon very similar to one Kratos obtained in his early video games.. And no, these are not chains of swords.

And if you as God of War fans aren’t convinced by what I said about Grog Strongjaw, just for the sheer fact that The Legend of Vox Machina is a fantastic anime series, you should try it. It has absolutely everything: silly humor, action, drama, spurting blood, dragons… it lacks nothing you could wish for in a fantasy epic. And really, Grog is a real animal.
