In the past few hours, the death of Claudia Patricia Tupa Lore, delegate of the Polo Obrero, found dead this Friday in suspicious circumstances in the neighborhood of Floresta in Buenos Aires. The woman’s body was found at the door of a restaurant located between Avenida Rivadavia and Joaquín V. González.

This Saturday, residents of the neighborhood organized a march on the corner where the facts took place, to demand justice for the young woman and demand that the police investigate the case. “It was no accident,” expressed the poster of one of the protesters.

“As far as we know, Claudia went to the place and collapsed. It seems that she died there and the owner of the place took her away,” said the representative of Unidad Piquetera, Eduardo Belliboniin communication with GlobeLiveMedia.

Thursday, a few moments before being found dead, Tupa had gone out to celebrate the festivities of “Compadres”, a typical party of the Bolivian carnival, according to her relatives.

At this afternoon’s protest, Claudia’s family and friends voiced their claims against the owner of the restaurant, known as ‘El gallito de Floresta’, who they accuse him of being the alleged murderer, as well as selling drugs. “They can’t write off a person and be off the hook. They left a mother to die,” they said.

They also said police “did not raid the site” or investigate what happened. “She went out to have fun and was found dead,” said María, one of her fellow activists.

“She was a solidarity activist who organized neighbors for a better life. Yesterday, we learned with great pain of this tragedy. We can’t let the time pass. We are not going to stop until Claudia’s death is clarified, until the police and the justice system give us an answer,” he added.
