Argentina’s stock market traded higher on Tuesday for the second consecutive session, driven by the improvement in stocks in the energy segment and in line with regional markets, traders said.
The S&P Merval index of Buenos Aires advanced 1.42%, to 50,280.62 units, at 11:10 local time (1410 GMT), after closing with an improvement of 2.73% the day before.
Shares on the Sao Paulo stock exchange improved 1.45%.
Operators added that the market’s attention remains in Argentina’s negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for an extended facilities agreement.
