Prosecutor’s Office starts Investigation against George Forsyth

The First Provincial Corporate Public Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes of Corruption of Officials of Lima ordered “to promote preliminary investigation proceedings” against the now presidential candidate of National Victory, George Forsyth, for the contracts he made in favor of his friend and partner Renzo Navarro, during his tenure as mayor of La Victoria in 2019 and 2020.

A week ago, the GLM Investigation Unit revealed that the former archer hired his partner for S / 107 thousand, despite the fact that he had no completed studies or experience in the public sector. The payments were made for management, administration and communication services, as well as advice provided by Navarro to the former mayor. Its functions included “organizing the agenda” and “updating directories”.

Navarro’s hiring was also carried out with the backing of the former Deputy Manager of Supply Jimmy Olmedo, as well as Gerardo Farfan, former Deputy Manager of Taxpayer Registration and Orientation, who was hired in the municipal entity three months after signing the labor certificate that he presented Navarro to the municipality to validate his work experience.

In this sense, the Third Office of the First Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, headed by prosecutor Viviana Robles, decided to investigate the case for the alleged crime of incompatible negotiation against Forsyth, Navarro and those who are responsible. The inquiry will take place within 90 days.

“Corresponds to the respective certification for the purpose of investigating the alleged acts of criminal connotation that would have taken place in the contracts made by the District Municipality of La Victoria, in favor of the supplier Raul Renzo Navarro Maurtua,” the resolution reads.

In addition, the prosecution ordered investigative actions such as requesting the Municipality of La Victoria information on the administrative files related to all Navarro’s service orders.

It also requested copies of the Organization and Functions Manual (MOF) and the Organization and Functions Regulation (ROF), as well as the Institutional Strategic Plan and the Institutional Operational Plan, among other actions.
