The former president of Peru Susana Higuchi regretted the departure of the former first lady through his Twitter account

The former president of the Republic , Pedro Pablo Kuczynski , joined the extensive list of politicians who made public their show of affection for the Fujimori Higuchi family after the departure of their matriarch, Susana Higuchi . The message of the former Head of State was addressed to the sons and daughters of the deceased.

“ My deepest condolences to the daughters and sons of Mrs. Susana Higuchi. We accompany them in their pain ”, reads his brief publication. It should be noted that the former president, since his retirement from political life, has not used his social networks, except for some important exceptions such as the departure of the former first lady, former presidential candidate and former parliamentarian. As is known, PPK has been under house arrest for almost three years. It is known that the former president continues to be investigated for crimes related to the Odebrecht scandal.

Susana Higuchi passed away on the morning of Wednesday, December 8 at the age of 71

As confirmed by her daughter Keiko Fujimori . Weeks ago, Higuchi had been admitted to a local clinic after experiencing health problems. “ After a tough fight against cancer, our mother, Susana Higuchi, has just left to meet God. She was surrounded by the love of us, her children and her grandchildren until the last moment. We entrust her to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception today , “said the leader of Fuerza Popular on Twitter.

Kuczynski was not the only figure who, despite having a marked political distance with Keiko Fujimori, decided to publish his expressions of affection in memory of his mother. The President Castillo also shared his grief and sent his condolences to the family. “I express my condolences to the relatives and close people of the former congresswoman and former first lady Susana Higuchi, after her sensitive death. We respect your pain right now. He rest in peace ” ,  he tweeted the head of state.

Former President Ollanta Humala , with whom Fujimori Higuchi competed in the second round during his second bid for the presidency, extended his condolences and those of his family. “ My family and I express our deepest condolences to the Fujimori Higuchi family for this irreparable loss. Rest in peace, Mrs. Susana Higuchi ”, wrote Humala Tasso in his official Twitter account.

FAMILY STATEMENTS

Leaving the church where her mother’s remains are veiled, the former presidential candidate, Keiko Fujimori , thanked the messages sent by so many personalities upon learning of the sad moment her family is going through. “I want to thank the message of President Castillo, Vice President Dina Boluarte, the President of Congress who, in addition, has been kind enough to express her personal greetings, from Premier Mirtha Vásquez, from the many politicians from different parties who have expressed his greetings and his affection for our mother, “he said on behalf of his family.

Although the exact cause of Higuchi’s death is unknown, her daughter told the press that “ she has been struggling in recent weeks because the cancer returned after many years and unfortunately it returned very abruptly and very quickly . Unfortunately, especially the last two weeks, she was suffering a lot, but in the midst of this pain she has gone on a day that is very symbolic for us, the Day of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. We know that the Lord and the Virgin have received her in heaven ”added Fujimori Higuchi.
