Tesla announced the vacancies available to work from home for Elon Musk’s company.

When the announcement of the arrival of Elon Musk’s Tesla company in Mexico was made, the company has not stopped hiring personnel not only for the factory in Monterrey, but to work throughout the country.

Now, what the company has done was to launch new vacancies in the modality of remote work or home office for different areas in which it is not required to have a university degree as long as you have the experience for the position.

Supply Chain Data Analyst

  • This data analyst will analyze and visualize data to help with the successful launch and scale of various programs and for the company to make better decisions.
  • The mode is remote and the activities are:
  • Create reports and data visualizations to guide decision making across the supply chain team.
  • Respond promptly, accurately and efficiently to data requests and inquiries
  • Support the supply chain with master data updates as needed
  • Drive data integrity, including identifying and acquiring missing information
  • Effectively communicate your findings to anyone in the enterprise, from executives to engineers.
  • Proactively identify inconsistencies in data through your visualizations and with statistical testing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional deductive ability
  • Expert in data analytics, visualization and communication, with previous full-time work experience preferred
  • Experience creating dashboards/visualizations using, for example, Tableau (or similar).
  • Detail oriented/relentless, willing to find cracks in the system to expose problems
  • Proficient in advanced MS Excel, SQL and Python. Data visualization programs such as Tableau and PowerBi are preferred.
  • Experience in supply chain/manufacturing program management is helpful
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up technology environment and deliver excellent results
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in sourcing, MRP and fulfillment systems is plus.
  • Highly proficient in supply chain automation and analytics.

Supplier Industrialization Engineer

If you are part of Tesla’s supplier industrialization team you will be responsible for the development of components, along with the activities of parts and process qualification, quality management and continuous improvement at suppliers.

The modality is remote and the activities to be done are:

  • Plan, organize, direct and perform industrialization related activities within the supply chain team.
  • Develop, manage, audit, improve and correct supplier planning and execution of manufacturing and component assembly techniques and quality control processes from advanced development stage to mass production qualification.
  • Provide leadership for new product introduction (NPI) at suppliers.
  • Leading supplier improvements in scalability, cost and quality.
  • Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between suppliers and Tesla Procurement, Quality and Design teams.
  • Responsible for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet performance, delivery and reliability expectations for parts.
  • Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality and Manufacturing teams to determine ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics.
  • Responsible for leading, tracking and improving supplier manufacturing process development, preparation for new product launches and design changes, and driving continuous improvement activities using lean manufacturing methods and first principals.
  • Guide suppliers in the development of exceptionally robust processes and procedures to promote efficient and smooth production of high quality products.
  • Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable and implemented for similar potential problems across all manufacturing lines and/or suppliers.
  • Provide input on new or alternative materials to improve design, manufacturability or cost reduction.
  • Participate in supplier DFM review, guide suppliers on efficient use of poke-yokes, best manufacturing, testing and measuring methods, and correct tooling or assembly equipment to use.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or evidence of experience and exceptional ability.
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing, research or quality engineering experience with demonstrated evidence of excellence.
  • Experience in validation systems
  • Demonstrate advanced working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T) and
  • lean manufacturing, and how to apply these skills to improve quality, capacity and reduce costs.
  • Advanced working knowledge of tool management and maintenance, high volume molding production processes, plating and painting of molded surfaces, part life cycle ownership from raw material approval to final product acceptance.
  • Possess demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Previous experience in handling safety critical parts.
  • Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at a management level.
  • Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment. Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers and other functional areas.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to explain complex problems in a concise and straightforward manner. Must be familiar with SPC and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel, possibly on short notice.
