There are three models for the new smartphone line launched by Xiaomi for this spring 2022. The company, which now faces Apple and Samsung , has in fact presented the 12 series devices, which in China is doing very well.

The trio is composed of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X, very similar to each other if not for some limited specifications, with Xiaomi 12 Pro looking at the other two from above and aiming to challenge Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPhone 13 Pro . It might surprise you, however, that the most popular of the lot might be the least popular model, namely the Xiaomi 12X with 8GB of Ram and 256GB of storage. The reason is in the price: the launch promotion valid for 48 hours from March 24 for purchase on Mi.com and Amazon lowers it to € 599.99 from € 699.99. In short, far from the 899.99 euros for the 8GB + 256GB version of Xiaomi 12, which however includes theWatch S1 Active smartwatch if you buy it before April 30th.

The models, we said, are very similar to each other. Change the processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro with more photo and video side features than the Xiaomi 12X Snapdragon 870. On the latter, wireless charging is also missing. All three devices are handy and hold well with one hand.

In both cases the highlight is the triple rear camera, with the main 50 megapixel wide angle. The sensor is Sony, but only on Xiaomi 12 it offers the Ultra Night Video mode and the portrait mode for night shots. On the Xiaomi Pro there is instead the Focus one, which intelligently identifies and tracks objects, preventing blurred or out of focus images of moving subjects. Shared is the One-click AI Cinema mode to create funny clips using a series of effects already seen on the 11T Pro models.

The screen is for everyone an Amoled Dot Display, which varies the refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz according to the content. Xiaomi 12 Pro is the largest (6.73 ” compared to 6.28 ” of the other two). Its display, thanks to the Eye Care Display certification of the SGS body, reduces the emission of blue light. In other words, it makes your eyes less tired. As for the audio, on the 12 and 12 X models there are two Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos; in the Pro version, there are even four, divided between tweeter and woofer.

We come to the drums. The Pro is equipped with a 4600 mAh module which, thanks to the HyperCharge 120W fast charge, recharges in 18 minutes. The other two rely on a 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, but only Xiaomi 12 can charge wirelessly from 50W and with reverse charging from 10W.

Xiaomi 12 pro and Xiaomi 12 will be available in Black, Blue and Purple colors from March 16 at Xiaomi Stores and the most well-known electronics chains. From March 24, the three models can also be purchased on Mi.com and Amazon.

Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at 1099.99 euros in the 8GB + 256GB cut and costs 100 euros more in the version with 12GB of Ram (which includes the Watch S1 smartwatch until April 30). Double identical cut with price starting from 799.99 euros for Xiaomi 12, while as mentioned above, after the 48 promotional hours, Xiaomi 12X with 256GB of memory will return to cost 699.9 euros.

Among the announcements of Xiaomi dedicated to international markets there are also the two smartwatches Watch S1 and Watch S1 Active and the pair Xiaomi Buds 3T Pro and Buds 3. G

The 3T Pro earphones (169.99 euros after the first 48 hours, when you can get them for 135.99 euros on Mi.com) offer noise cancellation in three modes (active, adaptive and transparency). They also have the Dimensional audio feature , which creates a 360-degree soundscape to hark back to live performances. The autonomy is around 6 hours of playback, with the case that increases its duration up to 24 hours.
