‘El Desafío’, the new Antena 3 program in which a select group of celebrities have to face a series of fixed tests, continues to add moments of great television emotion. And yesterday, the new delivery of the format had an indisputable protagonist: actor Jorge Sanz, which is lavishing enough on the small screen this month with its presence in the contest and after its recent participation in the reality show ‘Come to dinner with me’.

The charismatic interpreter had to slip into the diving wetsuit to face the challenge of apnea, one of the most difficult in the game. And if several weeks ago Pablo Puyol finished the test with an impressive mark (4 minutes and 2 seconds), Sanz managed to overcome him last night doing a display of underwater resistance that won him the admiration of the public and the unanimous applause of the jury. The Madrilenian managed to hold 4 minutes and 37 seconds, quite a feat rewarded, deservedly, with his victory in the program.

In fact, The artist also managed to beat Antena 3’s freediving record, surpassing the high bar set by Pilar Rubio in 2019 in ‘El Hormiguero’, when, after a long process of physical preparation, he kept holding his breath nothing more and nothing less than 4 minutes and eight seconds underwater.

To make Sanz’s triumph even more exciting, the presenter herself was yesterday as a guest on ‘El Desafío’ and was able to witness live and direct, from the judges’ table, the achievement of the actor. Also, Sergio Ramos’s wife made an important recommendation to him before he dived into the tank. “Think of your favorite song, sing it mentally and, when you can’t take it anymore, go second by second”, he advised, “you’ll just have to do it one more time.”

After emerging from the water, among the cheers and congratulations of those present on set, Sanz, who had shown an attitude of deep concentration at all times, regained his usual sense of humor, jokingly stating that his resistance capacity was due to a congenital malformation of the lungs. “I have thought happy things” he later explained, seriously, “I think relaxation and technique is everything. Having your head well furnished is what you have. The head supports much more than the body, always. “

Santiago Segura, Tamara Falcó and Juan del Val, the three members of the jury, recognized the effort of the interpreter, recognizing him with three outstanding. Segura also underlined her astonishment at the good performance of her friend, revealing that the actor has been smoking “since he was nine”.
