Since then, many rumors have been circulating about the artist… On Friday August 18, 2023, the singer’s older sister and godmother, Claudette Dion, firmly denied this to the Quebec newspaper 7 Jours. “I want to make it clear that the rumours that Céline is suffering from depression are false,” she asserted, before going on to talk about her singing ability: “Those who claim that my sister’s voice has disappeared are mistaken. She sang me a few notes on the phone and her voice is still there. I was so happy and reassured to hear her”, reassuring her fans around the world.

Alone since the death of her husband René Angélil in January 2016, the singer of Pour que tu m’aimes encore can nevertheless count on those close to her to get her through this ordeal, which is diminishing her physically. According to her, even though Celine Dion’s eldest son has moved in with his girlfriend, Angélique Weckenmann, he often visits her as often as he can. And he assures us that “Céline is doing the best she can. We know that her disease is particularly difficult to treat, but she’s surrounded by a great team of specialists and they’re working hard,” Claudette continues, adding that her sister had returned to Canada for better care.
