MEXICO CITY (AP) — Chilean Pablo Parra, Guillermo Martínez and Paraguayan Emanuel Gularte scored in the first half, and Puebla ended a three-game losing streak by beating Mazatlán 3-1 on Friday.

Parra opened the scoring at 10 minutes, Martínez followed at 27 and Gularte sealed the victory at 38.

With this result, the Strip team now has seven points and is in eleventh position pending the other results to date.

Ivorian Ake Loba discounted to 86 for Mazatlán, who lost the fifth of their five games played and remain bottom of the table.

The Cañoneros sacked Argentine Gabriel Caballero earlier this week, who was replaced by compatriot Rubén Omar Romano.

The team played one less match as they postponed their opening fixture against León due to outbreaks of drug-trafficking violence in the Mexican Pacific state of Sinaloa.
