Thousands of users continue without electricity in the heat wave (Télam)

In the middle of the hello heatwith thermal sensations above 30 degrees in some places in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), in the early hours of the morning of this Monday, reports more than 60,000 power outages. Over the weekend, the number of users without electricity service exceeded 200,000.

A few moments ago he National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) reported that there is 63,162 homes without electricity. Of the total, 55,405 correspond to Edesur customerswhile the remaining 7,757 are users of Edenor.

Yesterday’s high in cuts was recorded at 0.30 as the number of touchdowns topped 50,000.

Throughout this weekend, more than 200,000 families in the neighborhoods of the federal capital and the suburbs of Buenos Aires were affected by power cuts as the thermal sensation in several places exceeded 40 degrees.

On Friday, the number of victims exceeded 200,000; at night the figure fell to 50,000, but in the early hours of Saturday 11,000 users were left without power.

According to ENRE data, the most affected areas were the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of small horse and flowers, where the dealer Edesur operates. In fact, the aforementioned company is the one with the highest number of cuts and for which the national government has threatened to withdraw the concession.

In the final hours, the Secretary of Energy Flavia Royondenounced: “We have information that hundreds of families have been without electricity for days. They have one thing in common, they are all Edesur customers”.

In this context, she instructed the ENRE “to initiate the corresponding administrative actions to immediately and definitively resolve this type of situation which is repeated year after year”.

“Our pulse will not tremble if this means having to terminate the concession contract for the electricity distribution service handled by the Edesur company”Royon warned.

“The ENRE will immediately instruct to reinforce the crews to restore service and will begin the audit of compliance with the summer plan presented”, closed the Energy Secretary in the thread of tweets that she published this Sunday. .

In the same tune, Walter Martello – ENRE Controller – said: “Given the seriousness of the situation and as indicated by the Ministry of Energy and the technical review that we are going to formulate, We will act accordingly due to the possible expiration of the concession of the electricity distribution service in charge of the company Edesur”.

Martello had questioned Edesur’s apology for the lack of production given the 200,000 cuts, but “they themselves are responsible for the power stations from which they should be supplied that the Enel group controls.” Lack of investment is the real cause and this possible peak in demand was known in advance”.

Faced with the supply interruption of the last few days, ENRE explained that “CAMMESA, the operator of the Argentine interconnection system (SADI), has confirmed that it has not requested any cuts in any of the areas or regions of the country since the peak has been mined with optimum reserves.

Later, the entity reported that “SACME, the operator of the high voltage network of Edenor and Edesur, reported having ordered restrictions due to voltage drops in the 220 Kv and 132 kv networks and/or saturation of transmission equipment”.

In this sense, ENRE pointed out that “the ENEL group has more than 1,500 MW out of service due to unforeseen unavailability in the GBA area, including Central Costanera and Central Dock Sud”.

For its part, Edesur made it known via its social networks that this Sunday a “historic maximum power” was reported in the afternoon.
