SHIB can now be used via BitPay. A great step forward for the entire SHIBArmy
The SHIBArmy has just taken another important step in its quest for a worldwide adoption of the Shiba Inu (SHIB). BitPay, the world’s largest Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency payment service provider, announced that merchants can accept Shiba Inu for payments now and customers can buy, store and trade SHIB in the app BitPay Wallet.

“The Shiba Inu community is passionate about their area and very serious about giving customers places to spend their SHIBs,” said Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay. “BitPay is confident that increasing community engagement with the awareness and uptake of the coin helps the blockchain industry pave the way for blockchain payments that will completely transform the way customers and businesses receive and spend their money.”

Although it all started out as a simple meme, the SHIBArmy along with AMC and Newegg’s response helped SHIB reach the top of the list of coins to have in their wallet. Its growing popularity has placed SHIB in the Top 15 since its launch in May in terms of capitalization on CoinMarketCap, just in time for the holiday season.

AMC blew the SHIB community with joy when they asked if the company should request that SHIB be added as a payment option.
The community obviously answered in the affirmative, praising the merits of its corner, and now, SHIB owners can spend it at merchants who accept BitPay or at those where a gift card can be purchased via the BitPay Wallet.
Newegg, meanwhile, made the information official and with a huge digital promotional campaign, displayed in particular on The Reef, the largest billboard in North America. Located at the intersection of I-10 and I-110 in Los Angeles, The Reef is a larger-than-life platform for Newegg to send their crypto information.

The ability to accept crypto expands a merchant’s sales opportunity to international markets where credit card use is impractical while dramatically reducing fees and increasing the transparency and efficiency of payments.
The potential global market is huge and combined with a crypto capitalization approaching two trillion dollars, the opportunity is ideal.
