Yusuke Murata He is surely one of the most beloved figures in the manga industry today, after all he is the madman who does the madness that he is.”A punch“. Therefore, many of us have a great interest in “Zaiyuki”, this independent anime project which will represent Murata-sensei’s debut in the anime business as such. Although we still don’t know when it will see the light of day, today it has been possible to take an extended look at what we will find.

Before I comment anything else on “Zaiyuki”, I leave you now with the look that they left us on this occasion:
And now yes, I comment four little things about this look at “Zaiyuki” that seems relevant to me:
- In the first place, although the animation looks pretty good, it’s obvious that it’s not the finished product yet. The main reason is that several paths can still be seen in the image and it is assumed that they will not be present in the final product.
- Despite this, the truth is that the anime looks pretty good at this point. Also, it’s as if he really had this aesthetic essence that the first season of the One Punch Man anime carried, who launched both the franchise and Murata-sensei himself to stardom (although he is already known for his career).
- Also, I remind you that the characters seen in this extract from Zaiyuki will, indeed, be the protagonists of the anime in question. Although it is obviously easy to see the reference to A Journey to the West due to the presence of Sun Wukong, the participation of a Kappa boy, a very Faye Valentine slut and a very kakoi human always makes me curious.
For me, the truth is that they made “Zaiyuki” out of nowhere what arouses the most interest for me… but it is true that there are still MANY unknowns on this project. That this is an “indie” anime seems pretty clear to me at this point, basically because it’s Murata-sensei himself who shares absolutely everything about it, with no third parties involved.. That in turn makes me think it won’t be something hugely expansive just because of a resource issue… but it still has my full attention.
