Taylor Swift is making headlines around the world after ending a 5-year drought that never happened. Since 2018, the artist has not given us his music live and that means that every movement, every song, every look… is news.
However, the performer wanted to make a short stop on the way to his The Eras Tour to take a mass bath and, incidentally, send an inspiring message to future generations of artists who may want to follow in his footsteps.
He did so during the awards ceremony. iHeartRadio Music Awards 2023 in which he received an award for his role of inspiration and innovation for many (Innovator Award). And that’s where the words of a very exciting and moving speech came in, in which he recognized that the road to success is not only full of good decisions but also of wrong and even stupid choices…
“What I did was try to make the decision that was right for me at the time, whether it had been done successfully before or not. I mean what about those nights and times exciting and especially that award that i’m so lucky to have gotten is that they shine a light on the choices i’ve made that have worked. GOOD? the ones that turned out to be good ideas,” Taylor Swift began to explain shortly after the first acknowledgments for her award.
“I really, really want everyone to know, especially young people, that the 100 or 1000 silly ideas I had are the ones that led me to my good ideas“, said the American in the middle of a deafening cry which seemed to confirm each letter of each of her words.
“You have to give yourself permission to fail. I try as hard as I can not to fail because it’s embarrassing, but I give myself permission and you should too. Don’t be hard on yourself and just make the right decisions that feel right to you. And one day someone will think you’ve been innovative. Thank you so much for everything,” Taylor Swift concluded after addressing generations of artists to come.
That wasn’t the only award Swift picked up on the night, as she also took home Best Song, Best Pop Album, Best Use of Sample, and Best TikTok Hit…
