years ago the Electronic Entertainment Fair, better known as E3, has lost much of its prestige and importance in the gaming industry, but some still hope the show will return to its former glory. Many of them dropped out only when it was revealed that neither Nintendo, PlayStation, nor Xbox will be participating this year. Luckily, Ubisoft announced it would be here a few months ago, so thinking about Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Massive’s Star Wars game and more has us excited again. Well, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that a spokesperson told VGC that Ubisoft will not participate in E3 2023 after all. Fortunately, the good news is that the French company has canceled these plans because, instead, it will organize another big broadcast of Ubisoft Forward on June 12.

That means we’ll continue to have a news-packed summer like the past few years, as Microsoft has confirmed that we’ll be hosting both an Xbox Games Showcase and a Starfield Direct on June 11, Geoff Keighley continues to promote its Summer Game Fest which starts on June 8 whenever we get bad news from E3 and Sony is preparing its second PlayStation Showcase between May and June.

Do you think E3 is still important or should studios and publishers stick to their own shows?
