LOS ANGELES – The authorities tried, this Tuesday night, to corner a group of cows in the streets of Pico Rivera that had escaped from a slaughterhouse in the area in southeast Los Angeles.

Authorities advised residents to avoid the area around Beverly Rd. And Durfee Ave. The news helicopter from our sister network, NBC in Los Angeles flew over the curious chase.

Several cows escaped and are loose in the area, Los Angeles County Sheriff authorities reported, around 8:30 p.m.

The cows would have escaped from a local slaughterhouse. The slaughterhouse owner allegedly tried to tie one of the cows with a rope, but she charged in his direction and knocked the man to the ground.

The authorities and Good Samaritans in cars tried to corner the cows and prevent them from escaping.
