The fire originated in an animatronic dragon nearly 14 meters tall, in the Tom Sawyer Island attraction, one of the oldest in the theme park. As part of the light show, Maleficent’s dragon sprang into action, but caught fire in the middle of the event.

After that, all participants, public and team, they had to leave and to be evacuated while emergency personnel put out the fire, which spread through the giant dragon’s body.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance of ‘Fantasmic! can’t go on”said an announcement to park goers. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”

Flames began to appear from the dragon’s head near the end of the chow, just as Mickey Mouse was battling Maleficent’s character. As ABC 7 reports, everything got scared and the incident was resolved no injured or affected.

As expected, the show was immediately canceled and authorities cordoned off the area, but the rest of the Disneyland park attractions remained open to the public. For now, the causes are unknown fire.
