land of sandwill bring us in a few months a little more of Akira Toriyama’s creative universe, which extends beyond his greatest historical hits like “Dr. Tumble” but above all “dragonball“. Indeed, this brief history will place us in a post-apocalyptic Earth‘ in which control of the planet’s few remaining water sources is absolutely crucial for survival. And here it will come into play the protagonist of the story: Beelzebub.

The anime Sand Land can be seen in motion through the official movie trailer

Before I comment on anything else about the premiere and/or the movie in question, I’ll leave you with today’s good news: the official movie trailer from the anime “Sand Land”.

And now yes keep in mind the following things regarding what the “Sand Land” anime will be like (via ANN):

  • One of the big news today is that it will be Mutsumi Tamura who will voice Beelzebub, the protagonist of Sand Land. The actress is known for roles as important as Kakashi Hatake in Naruto or Kobayashi in the anime Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
  • Likewise, it should be remembered that in Japan, the film Sand Land premieres on August 18, 2023. At this point It is still unclear whether it will be released theatrically in Spain, because in the end it’s a completely unknown IP address that has “only” Akira Toriyama’s name behind it.
  • For those who are curious about the history of the anime Sand Land as such: We find ourselves in a dystopian Earth where the wars have finally left the whole surface like a huge desertand in which water is controlled by a greedy king. It is so that the sheriff rao manages to convince the demon king to help him, sending his son Beelzebub and his deputy, Thieffor such find a lake that saves them all. During this journey, they will face all kinds of enemies: from dragons to bandits and, of course, the king’s army..

I understand that more than one person isn’t too sold on the CGI theme, but I honestly believe this is a project that will definitely be worth seeing. In the end, the film “Sand Land” is a collaborative project between the studios Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga and ANIMA, so I personally have confidence that it will turn out well. In any case, in case there are some who are not interested in the film but are interested in the IP, I remind you that there are more things on the way, like a video game (very probably).
