Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division have arrested a person in connection with a knife attack near a subway station.
Around 5 p.m. last Thursday, the Hollywood Division of the LAPD responded to calls for an “ADW ambulance court” at the Metro Red Line station in the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found that LAFD personnel were already treating someone for their injuries. They suffered a serious abdominal injury and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
After an investigation, police discovered that the victim had entered the subway train and had a verbal argument with another man who was already seated in the train. The argument quickly turned violent and the man on the train sliced the victim once in the abdomen.
On Saturday, authorities identified the man on the train as Alex Garcia, 27, from Los Angeles. Garcia was located by officers and held around Santa Monica Boulevard and Gower Street. He was convicted of attempted murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bond and a suspension of felony probation.
The individual who was stabbed remains hospitalized for his injuries and is in stable condition.
