Two 17-year-old students were arrested and charged with murder for shooting a teenager this Sunday of the same age in the town of Orange Park, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, in northeast Florida.

Thanks to a surveillance video and the testimony of one person, law enforcement officers were able to identify two teenagers as suspects in the crime and, after questioning, they were arrested and charged with murder.

Andrew Neeper, 17, a student at Orange Park High School, was charged with the crime of murder, and Dejerrick Gillum, the same age and a student at Bannerman Learning Center, was arrested on the charge of accessory to murder, he said in a communicated the sheriff’s office.

Channel 4JAX identified the fatality as Jandel Rodríguez, 17, also a student at the Bannerman Learning Center.

The Police investigation revealed that there was a “animosity” between the defendants and the victim and that the “shooting was the result of an earlier discussion” between the two parties.

Authorities indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that the defendants could face further criminal charges.
