Miami-Dade Fire Department 69 at the center of an investigation.
Fire Chief Ray Jadallah calls it an incident of a “blatant nature”.
The camera was reportedly found here at station #69 on Sunday. the fire station is near NW 74th Street and 111th Avenue.
Sources told Telemundo 51 that a camera was found inside a bathroom at the resort pointing towards the shower.
In a memo, Chief Jadallah said, “Given the sensitive nature of this process, the investigation will be conducted by Miami-Dade Police in a manner that maximizes the privacy of those involved. “
Miami-dade police confirm there is an open internal investigation, but could not comment further.
It should be noted that the word voyeurism was not officially mentioned. According to the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, a voyeuristic person likes to contemplate the intimate or erotic attitudes of others. When it occurs without mutual consent, it can be considered a crime.
The fire chief added that they “will do everything possible to ensure that incidents of this nature are properly investigated and dealt with”.
We are requesting an interview with the Chief, but he will not comment at this time as this investigation is in its early stages. It seems no one knows who put the camera there. More questions than answers at this point. But certainly worrying.
