Dreamcast was a console SEGA which failed miserably when it came to competing against such strong rivals as PlayStation or Nintendo, however, that doesn’t mean it didn’t introduce some memorable video games that have become true classics. When I think of the name of this system, it is impossible for me not to think of masterpieces like Shenmue or Radio Jet Set.
The second title is still very special for many because very few games have managed to create a style as marked as theirs. Radio Jet Set It was a hooligan, “street”, and very funky piece of work that is remembered for its gameplay, art, and fantastic soundtrack. Did you get nostalgic reading all this? Well, be careful because the franchise could prepare its return.
First leaks of a new Jet Set Radio?
- SEGA fans went crazy after the leak of an alleged corporate video in which there are several seconds of gameplay from a Persona 3 remake and a new opus of Jet Set Radio
- The “leaker” (anonymous) who was responsible for sharing this document assured that is from an internal SEGA meeting held in 2021in which several projects in development were mentioned, including Sonic Frontiers
- At the end of said clip, you can see Beatone of Jet Set Radio’s playable characters, dancing to one of Hideki Naganuma’s songs and wearing a very renewed modeling
- And to reinforce the filtering, the user Genki_JPN echoes a supposed image of the game that looks really good (the one I left you above)
Is there a reason to trust the leak?
I will always say take all rumors with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation to take things for granted, but there is reason to suspect that this leak may be true. Last year Bloomberg assured that SEGA is working on new episodes of Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi as part of its Super Game initiative, and this medium usually hits the nail on the head in everything it puts forward.
