The popularity of IlloJuan has risen like foam in recent months to become one of the most viewed on the Twitch platform, as I have already told you in this article compiling the most successful strings of these. But having that much exposure means that, once in a while, people jump on you because of some controversy.

And, precisely, IlloJuan was in the eye of the storm this weekend because of a specific gamewhich is none other than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I’ll tell you what happened next:

Why are IlloJuan and Nintendo Trending Topic on Twitter?

  • The fact is that this same weekend IlloJuan streamed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild via Twitch
  • The controversy stems from the idea that you were playing it with an emulator and not with an official copy of the game on Nintendo Switch
  • Regarding the latter, there are two things to keep in mind: people have founded it on Twitter claiming that this type of act encourages piracy. And second, Twitch rules prohibit live streaming matches made in pirated games
  • On the other hand, I understand that The purpose of IlloJuan’s stream was to play the game at 2K and 60FPS, which is not supported by the official version of it
  • However, things got a lot hotter around a clip circulating on the networks that was picked up by Hank Scorpio On Twitter. I leave you with him below

Either way, emulation has always been a hotly debated topic and it’s highly likely that Nintendo will sever all ties with it eventually; something IlloJuan himself has already commented on during his live broadcast. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of response he’ll give to the cover that fell on him over the weekend. What do you think of all this? I read you in the comments.
