The closed beta of howling waves reveals a lot of information about the game, information that has never been specified by the developers themselves and that players now specify that they are playing the title. That is why I bring you this post where I will talk about the game echoes system, something that is extremely important to improve the experience of the title.

The Wuthering Wave Echo System

Before we begin, credits to Kovak who was the one who collected and shared in Twitter all information related to the Echoes system. If you want to keep up to date with howling waves that of Genshin Impact, I recommend you follow it! I also want to mention that everything I’m going to explain to you now is taken from the closed beta of the game, so there might be changes for the final version of the game.

What are echoes/artifacts?

The first thing to answer for those who don’t know is what are the echoes or artifacts. I know comparisons are odious, but the closest example that all of these mechanics are best explained with is Genshin Impact, so I’m going to use this game as an example (although in howling waves There are important differences, which I will discuss later).

  • The bone Genshin Impact Artifacts They are like accessories that you can equip the characters (something like the typical rings of classic RPGs, for example)
  • These artifacts serve to improve the basic stats of the characters, either to increase attack, defense or life, among many other stats
    • From now on, I will refer to statistics as “statistics”, which is how they are more colloquially known.
  • GOOD an Echo in Wuthering Waves is the equivalent of an Artifact in Genshin Impact
  • That’s to say, Echoes are used to equip our characters and increase their base stats

How Echoes Work

Here you need to consider several simple but important details separately, so here is another list of points for everything to be described

  • Each character can equip 5 echoes 5⃣
  • You can equip Echoes in any order you want, but the order influences the stats that will level you up
  • Actually each character will have a main Echo and the other 4 will be secondary
    • Main echo: it will give your character a new active ability. This is very interesting, since you can equip damage abilities to a character specializing in defense or healing, for example. The Main Echo will also give you a random stat
    • Secondary echoes: each secondary Echo of the 4 that the character has equipped will give you 4 passive stats
  • If you have repeated echoes, you can refine them, which makes higher level and become better props
  • if you equip Echoes of the same kind (because yes, there are “classes/types” in echoes) you will get a bonus exclusive to that type of echo, so equip them to the same type if possible

It is in summary operation of the Echos system, which allows to have great customization since you can give abilities to your characters according to your preferred style of play or your strategy, and this thanks to the main echo.

How do you get echoes?

The Echoes are reached defeat a type of enemies also called echoes. Defeat them and you’ll get Echoes. In Genshin Impact you have to spend resin (which is limited and slowly recharges over time) to collect the correct artifacts. In howling waves you don’t need to expend energy to pick up echoes, though Yes, it is necessary to spend it on the materials needed to upgrade the Echoes.
