ORLANDO, Fla. — A former Walt Disney World employee is facing an accusation of secretly filming a customer’s skirt, and he allegedly told investigators he had done it more than 500 times in the past six years.
Jorge Diaz Vega, 26, worked at the Star Wars gift shop in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios in Florida until his recent arrest for video voyeurism, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
According to court documents filed by Orange County officials, a witness saw Vega film an upskirt video of an 18-year-old woman, and she later told security officers she was not at the aware of Vega’s actions.
Detectives said Vega testified voluntarily and told them he made videos as a “guilty pleasure” and showed them several examples on his cellphone.
He was arrested March 31 and released on $2,500 bail. It’s unclear if Vega has an attorney who can comment on his legal situation.
Disney World said Sunday that Vega is not currently working for the company.
Neither the police nor Disney would say if they are working to identify the other women Vega allegedly took videos of.
Disney continues to govern the old Reedy Creek, after a new board was dismantled before taking office.
