“DanMachihas become, over the years, one of my favorite fantasy anime. The truth is, it hasn’t always been a work of art, and it certainly had some moments lower than others. .. but also very epic. 4, I didn’t know I would end up thinking this was the best thing I’ve seen in the last year, so I think it’s more than justified to start looking to the future, and that necessarily goes through an anime season 5.
What to expect from a DanMachi Season 5
Introductions made, now I will review the possibilities that exist for “DanMachi” to take another step in its animated adaptation:
- To start, the most important question to answer of all: Is there enough material for a DanMachi anime season 5? well yesDefinitely, at least based on how the anime has been adapted so far.
- The DanMachi anime follows the light novel work closely, and prior to the current season 4, the first 11 volumes had been adapted. With Season 4 already complete, progress has been made to cover the first 14 volumes of the light novel., which deals with the whole arc of the labyrinth and the exploration that we have seen.
- What happens afterwards? Well, a volume 15 of a light novel at the “interlude” level of the story to then begin a brand new arc in Volume 16 and remained active through Volume 18 (that’s how much was published).
- Do I think, however, that the anime will announce its season 5 immediately? This is where I think things change. Personally, I doubt that we will find out about the existence of DanMachi Season 5 in the next few months.
- The reason is that, as can clearly be seen, we are already approaching the current point of the DanMachi light novel story. In fact, it hasn’t even been two months since Volume 18 was released in Japan. For this reason, and even though there is already enough material to make a season 5, I think the anime will take a little “hiatus” (at least in the rest of 2023) until the next phase of the story is announced..
Although of course I venture to speculate a lot, I must say that I wouldn’t be surprised if “DanMachi” Season 5 doesn’t air until around 2025.. I say this with a view to a possible announcement next year, and that again the story shouldn’t be rushed with the way things are going. It’s a bit of a long wait, but the anime industry has left us in worse situations (and if it’s because of this anime, I don’t mind being more patient than usual ).
