Just a day after a fatal shooting occurred in a West Park neighborhood, Broward police returned to the scene to investigate more shots fired in the area, but this time early Sunday morning.

The Sunday morning shooting took place near 18th Street in Southwest County, where residents say they heard multiple gunshots around 5 a.m.

“It was like ding ding then the other boom boom,” said local resident Nate Reid, who added, “It makes me want to be aware of my surroundings. I don’t want to go anywhere and get caught in the crossfire.” .

The shooting happened about a mile from another shooting that took place in the 4100 block of Southwest and 30th Street, but on Saturday night left one person dead.

Authorities have released few details about either shooting.

Mark Young, a community activist, said locals always raise issues for him so he can present them at town meetings because “we don’t get protection, people come and go from work, their lives is in danger”. .
