The poster for one of the biggest Latin music nights in the United States has confirmed the first Spanish artist who will take the stage that night: To install Bad Gyal. It didn’t take 24 hours for the organization of the 2023 Latin American Music Awards to close voting for some of its main categories and announce the first artists.
It will be the debut at the awards ceremony for the Catalan performer who will share the bill with other big names in the Latin industry such as Anuel AA, Guaynaa and Lele Pons, Myke Towers and Prince Royce. In the coming days, new performers will be added to this list.
According to the Latin AMAs organization, Bad Gyal will take the stage to perform his song Chulo in what is sure to be a show full of passion, power and vindication of female talent. For now, she is, along with Lele Ponsk, the only confirmed woman on the poster.
While it is true that Natti Natasha will also be the mistress of ceremonies for the gala to be held on April 20 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas (Nevada, United States). As usual in these awards, it can be seen live on Televisa Univision, UNIMÁS and Galavisión.
The official list of nominees is headed, how could it be otherwise, by Bad Bunny. The Puerto Rican reggaetonero has managed to have his name repeated up to 11 times, including in the main categories: best artist of the year, best album of the year, best song of the year… In all these categories , it will compete against some of the artists who follow the example: Becky G, Daddy Yankee, Rosalía, Romeo Santos, Rauw Alejandro… It will be a very tight competition between some of the main Latin artists who marked 2022 (and who continue to do so in 2023).
On behalf of Spain, Rosalía is the big proper name with up to 8 nominations and many ballots to be able to be part of the ceremony since he is currently in America offering concerts. Indeed, at the time of the gala he is in the United States to participate in the Coachella Festival on April 15 and 22.
