  • On PC, Halo Infinite is now less likely to crash on launch when using a non-English keyboard layout.
  • Online matches are now less likely to disconnect all players when playing Escalation Slayer and Covert One Flag.
  • Players are now less likely to experience crashes when playing games on Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X consoles.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when too many navigation indicators and objectives appeared on screen at once.

To forge

Today’s update addresses a high-impact issue that incorrectly limited the number of Script Brains that can be placed on a map. Please read the Developer Notes below for more information on this issue and the solution:

  • What happened: Season 3 added a budget check every time a player added node graph content to reduce the incidence of “Dedicated Server Load Failed” errors.
    • If your map contains too many “nodogram entities” (nodes + connections + properties), this check will prevent you from adding nodes, duplicating nodes or adding other connections.
    • Based on our own research and support tickets, this resulted in an overall working budget of around 200-250 nodes per map after the Season 3 update, which is a pretty low cap.
  • What changes: This fix increases the node graph entity limit by 800 A 2048.
    • Most players should now be able to add nodes and connections to any map that was working during the winter update.
    • Maps should comfortably hold scripts with up to 512 nodes before hitting the duplicate limit or “Failed to load dedicated server” error.
  • Please be careful:
    • This budget check was a stopgap for Season 3 until we could add additional Node Graph budget items in a future update. With this fix, we’re opting to allow advanced scripters to push the tool, even if it means they’ll encounter that frustrating Winter Update bug more often.
    • Because we’ve loosened budget controls, maps with lots of scripts + artwork may still experience “Failed to load Dedicated Server” errors that were present in the Winter Update.
    • Going forward, you will see this entity limit being replaced with actual budget checks against the limits causing the load failed error.

Other issues fixed in this hotfix include:

  • Players can now permanently load older versions of their Forge maps.
  • When editing a node graph in Forge that has multiple scripts starting with event nodes, players can now connect a single node to multiple execution nodes connected to different scripts.
  • Primitive spherical objects in the Forge that were moved due to the Season 3 update have been restored to their original location.
    • As mentioned in a Tut from @HaloSupportForge creators who attempted to restore the original position of affected primitive spheres before this patch may need to realign the spheres after installing the update.
  • When selecting a map for Forge on PC, selecting a file from the My Favorites menu no longer reverts to the previously selected map.
  • When rotating an object in Forge with the Rotation Adjustment option set to 15 degrees or more, players can now quickly press the corresponding directional cue instead of holding down the directional cue.

Thank you to all players who submitted a ticket regarding these and other in-game issues. Stay tuned for @HaloSupport on Twitter for the latest news on upcoming releases.
