The ongoing battle between Microsoft and Sony has been a long and difficult process with Activision Blizzard essentially caught in the crossfire.

This has noticeably stalled Activision’s own plans, and has obviously taken its toll on some of the company’s key characters (with Sony refusing to sign the Call of Duty deal), so how is this going to affect the Activision’s future relationship with Sony?

In a company-wide email to employees, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick called Sony’s recent performance “disappointing” for a partner of “nearly thirty years,” making referencing a recent claim from the PlayStation maker suggesting that Microsoft may be releasing buggy versions of Call of Duty on Sony consoles.

Kotick said no matter what, Activision will “continue to deliver the best possible games” across all platforms because it “cares too much” about its players to release “sub-par versions” of its best franchises.

The same email from Kotick also acknowledged a comment allegedly made by SIE CEO Jim Ryan about Sony simply wanting to stop the merger from happening, grouping that with the rest of Sony’s recent in-camera displays.

It was Activision Blizzard communications director Lulu Cheng Meservey who initially shed some light on social media, mentioning how the Japanese gaming giant wanted to block the acquisition:

“We have also offered Sony guaranteed long-term access to Call of Duty. But they continue to refuse. Because? The CEO of SIE answered this question in Brussels. a new Call of Duty deal.” . I just want to block your merge.

Sony has now also come under fire from 11 members of the US Congress, saying it is unfairly harming Xbox in Japan, after a US senator suggested Sony had a “98% monopoly on the games market”. Japan.
