In court was Esneyder Restrepo, 26, the man who early Sunday morning caused panic and kept a neighborhood awake at 17700 Northwest and 54th Avenue Miami Dade.

“At half past one in the morning, I was sleeping, lying in my bed. Then I hear the gunshots. About 45 minutes later. Five more shots. I looked out the window, but I saw nothing. Then, around two in the morning, the first patrols arrived,” said witnesses.

According to the arrest report when the police arrived on the scene, the subject allegedly shot at officers and then hid in the trailer behind this door. He was there for several hours.

Miami Dade officers were joined by the Special Response Team.

Despite orders to surrender, Restrepo remained inside until they picked him up and took him into custody.

Sitting on the sidewalk, Esneyder Restrepo denied shooting. He even said he had no firearms, but casings and ammunition were found at the scene.

Today in court they denied him the right to bail. A decision he apparently disagreed with. His lawyer suggested that he remain silent.
