Otherdeeds continues to be a hot topic, we learn a few more details about the HV-MTL collection, Splinterlands receives another big hit in active player count, and more! Let’s recap some of the best Web3 games and NFT collections from the past week.

With the first quarter of 2023 over, the momentum of web3 gaming seems inevitable. Renowned gaming companies continue to move towards blockchain integration. And while not all will succeed, their interest in technology brings more legitimacy to the space. Last week, CCP Games, known for creating Eve Online, announced a recent round of funding for the development of a blockchain-enabled game based on the Eve universe!

The development of other web3 games continues at a rapid pace. New NFT games were all the rage last week with Hunters On-Chain, Tearing Spaces, and Blast Royale to name a few. Mobile games are also increasingly mentioned. Hunters and Blast Royale will start with mobile versions, and you can already pre-register for WAGMI Defense, another mobile game that’s part deck builder and part auto hunter.

For the second week in a row, Splinterlands has lost over 30% of its active player base! Most of them are probably bots, as owners find them to be less profitable than before. Splinterlands doesn’t ban bots in their game, but they regularly make changes to try to prevent bot farms from harming their game ecosystem. And it seems those efforts have been successful lately! This potentially allows real players to receive more rewards as there are fewer players competing for the same groups. But if the trend continues, Splinterlands will quickly lose second place on these lists!

Splinterlands wasn’t the only game feeling the crunch this week. Iskra, Benji Bananas, and Hunters On-Chain also saw double-digit declines in active player counts. The only positive trends came from a slight increase in Farmer’s World players and a jump from Era7, likely due to the recent launch of a new tournament.

A big week for Otherdeeds as interest in them continued to grow after the Second Trip demo.

And the newest collection in the BAYC ecosystem, the HV-MTL power supplies earned in the game Dooky Dash, has received an updated webpage with more information about these NFTs. Following the current trend, HV-MTL NFTs are dynamic NFTs. They will evolve and grow based on player actions involving base building play. The minimum price for these NFTs is currently 2 ETH.

Meanwhile, the BEANZ collection, an offshoot of Azuki, also saw a resurgence last week as it celebrated its first anniversary.
