By now we all know Skyrim mods can do it all. Dedicated creators around the world are still rewriting and recontextualizing the RPG Bethesda as the studio works toward Starfield’s release date, and a new mod from a prolific creator essentially gives Skyrim the Wild Wasteland trait of Fallout. New Vegas, using skooma.
Skyrim mod master JaySerpa has done it again as “Skyrim on Skooma” joins his previous creations in reworking the Dark Brotherhood questline and turning the College of Winterhold into a veritable school.
Despite the April 1 release date, Skyrim on Skooma is a very real mod, turning the Dunmer drink into “proper arcade stuff with 69 possible scenarios” while still remaining immersive, in some ways.
In this Skyrim mod, every time you consume skooma, you will hallucinate for 60 seconds, where you will “stumble over bullets”. Cabbages with eyes, screen filters, dancing NPCs, giant buns, and a giant cheese mammoth are just the tip of the iceberg here. You’ll also get random music and images in addition to the 69 effects, so the combinations “multiply by the thousands”.
However, keep in mind that you can become addicted to skooma in Skyrim mode, with a 25% chance of addiction after consumption, which lasts 30 minutes, or if you continue drinking skooma. The idea of the mod is to see as many wild and wonderful settings as possible, and JaySerpa’s work closely resembles a Skyrim version of the Wild Wasteland trait from Fallout: New Vegas, adding wacky wild encounters to your game if you have the trait . unlocked. Who remembers the Indiana Jones fridge?
For the finalists among you, JaySerpa also points out that Skyrim on Skooma is full of secrets and challenges you to find out as much as possible about his Skyrim mod’s “acceptance of madness”.
