Today, Spike Chunsoft shared some new details about his lucid-dark detective adventure. Master Detective Files: Rain Code, which covers the areas players will visit at the start of the game, mystery-solving elements, and the basics of Reasoning to Death. We also have new screenshots.

Areas to explore in Kanai Ward from the start

Kamasaki District

Kanai Ward’s liveliest and busiest area. Many people reside here, and a variety of shops and stalls line the streets. It is characterized by a large number of stairs and walkways, which makes it look like a multi-storey structure. There is also an underpass that leads to the river bank.

Hotel Sun and Moon. A hotel in the Kamasaki district. It’s a beautiful building, but it rarely has customers due to its isolation from the city. Guests are rarely seen other than the master detectives.

River bank

A bank of the great river that runs through Kanai Ward. Due to Amaterasu Corporation’s business practices, the water itself is terribly contaminated. The Night Detective Agency is currently here after being kicked out of a building in the Kamasaki area.

ginma district

The upscale shopping district. It looks neat compared to the Kamasaki area, and the blue lighting creates a calm atmosphere. There are cafes and restaurants, as well as landmarks such as the art gallery with two dinosaur fossils in the public square and the clock tower.

Kanai Station Square

The magnificent station serves as the gateway to the Kanai district. This is the only way to enter the remote town, but the number of travelers is very limited. The front of the station is deserted.

Challenge the mysterious maze where mysteries materialize

Structure of the mysterious maze and solve various puzzles

The layout of a maze is influenced by the case being studied, so the atmosphere will be radically different in each case. If the culprit sets up tricks and traps to prevent the case from being solved, these will also be reflected in the Labyrinth, making it even more complex. In addition to Death Match Reasoning against the Mystery Phantoms, the questions to be answered will manifest in different puzzles. Multiple-choice questions, solving a mystery with the correct solution key, as well as action-oriented sequences appear.

Shoot the letters from the slowly spinning barrel to spell the word that answers the question. Why is Shinigami in a barrel? It’s a mystery.

Basic Reasoning Deathmatch Action

The Reasoning Death Match is a direct confrontation with the Mystery Phantoms trying to prevent the mystery from being solved. Death Match Reasoning will spawn multiple times until the maze is conquered. If it is a complex case involving several diaries, several mysterious ghosts may appear. Although various mechanics are added as the game progresses, here are the four basics of Death Match. It looks action-packed at first glance, but it has simple controls.

To dodge

The Phantom’s statements will approach in various forms and movements. Dodge statements by moving left to right, crouching, and jumping.

Select the solution key

The solution keys obtained during the investigation are essential to victory in a deathmatch. Find the contradiction between the statements of the mysterious ghost and place the solution key that refute it on the solution sheet.

Refutation

Highlight the contradiction and cut it with the solution blade while the solution key is set. If you do it successfully, the story advances.

cutting noise

Noise (pink utterances) that isn’t related to the main subject can sometimes get in the way. Get rid of them with “Slash Noise”.

q

Although the Ghost is modeled after the person involved in the case in the real world, he is only a materialization of Qs, strange beings that appear in the Labyrinth of Mystery, and has no direct connection with said Qs. person.
