It’s no surprise to learn that Nintendo isn’t done with its cinematic adventure, especially when we learn that Super Mario Bros. : The film is apparently days away from surpassing $1 billion at the worldwide box office, a feat that is no exception, only 51 films have made history.

Speaking with Nikkei (thanks, VGC), Nintendo legend and creator of many of the company’s best-known franchises, Shigeru Miyamototalked about Nintendo’s future in the film business, which it looks like the Japanese company will focus on some of its other properties.

“Please stay tuned for our next production. Nintendo is like a talent agency. We have many more artists (on our roster).”

Miyamoto continues: “There are different ways to develop characters (for the screen), including characters suitable for the film and well-known characters.”

While this doesn’t confirm what Nintendo’s next movie will be based on, it looks like Mario is taking a step back as Nintendo explores another beloved franchise. Maybe you mean The Legend of Zelda?
