Next week there will be a very important meeting between representatives of the Redmond giant and the European Commission for the fate of the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
The file of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is still very uncertain, the Americans are doing everything in their power to carry out the case. As we have already seen, this is not easy, as the possible impact of the merger on the video game market is monitored by international regulators. It is true that some of them have already given a positive verdict to Microsoft, but there are also parties who openly express their doubts. Among them is the European Commission, which recently sent Microsoft an antitrust warning.
In response to the letter, On February 21, Microsoft representatives will appear before EC officials to defend the Activision Blizzard acquisition deal in a special hearing.. This will no doubt be a hugely important meeting for Xbox makers, as it could bring the company significantly closer to completing the merger.
Curiously, as FOSS Patents reports, Sony representatives may also appear at said hearing. Microsoft’s Japanese competitor has been trying to prevent the deal from going ahead for a long time.
